Sergei Lomanov, the captain of team Russia commented on the final match against team Sweden and told that Khabarovsk became a lucky city for his team.
- First ten minutes there was some kind of unattentiveness. The Swedish scored two goals and then took the game under their total control, created a lot of moments. We were caught in counter-attacks, we were lucky when they shot into a horizontal bar. On the other side we were driving our line and were playing as we had planned before, - we were tiring them by our speed. Of course, we could score earlier and tied the score. And at the end all our efforts we put into the game were rewarded and we won meritoriously.

The forward told that the team was nervous and all coaches staff too, - everyone was a part of a whole, worked for the result, and that helped to win.

- Sure, we were thinking about  the year of 1981 when team Sweden won in Khabarovsk. That time the stadium was different, different kind of spectators and players. We wanted to refute the idea that our city is an unlucky one for team Russia, and we did it. Now we can say that Khabarovsk ice is giving luck. We appreciate the supporters who have come today. I think it influenced our game too. They believed in us till the very end. Thank them a lot.

The team's captain did a double in the final match, and after the game he confessed that those two goals were happiness for him.

- I'm happy to benefit my team. That double I could exchange for all goals I had scored at the tournament before. I'm happy we have won and have become the World Champion. This victory we can devote to Andrei Veselov who has gone. He was a very good friend. Sure, I devote this victory to every of my dearest and nearest.
